This Privacy Policy explains how Taha Yasin Bike, an individual sole trader based in the Republic of Türkiye ("we", "us", "our"), handles information in connection with the Macooler application for macOS and the website at macooler.com. Contact: info@macooler.com.
1. Information we collect
- Anonymous installation ID: a random identifier generated on your device to identify your installation of the App.
- Device fingerprint: a one-way hash (SHA-256) derived from your Mac's hardware identifier, used solely to enforce the per-license device limit. It cannot be reversed to identify your hardware.
- Licensing data: if you purchase or activate Macooler Pro, we process your license key and email address. Your email is stored only as a cryptographic hash on our server, used to verify self-service device-reset requests.
- Website: if you join our waitlist or newsletter, we store the email address you provide.
- Payment data: payments are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record. We do not receive or store your card details. Polar's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
- On-device system information: the App reads local system data (CPU, memory, disk, processes, battery, temperature) to display it to you. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
2. How we use information
We use the above information to validate licenses and enforce device limits, provide and improve the App, respond to support requests, and—for the waitlist—send product updates.
3. Sharing
We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the service (for example, Polar for payments and Cloudflare for hosting and delivery). We do not sell your personal data.
4. Retention
We retain licensing data while your license is active and as required by law. Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
5. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the Turkish KVKK and, where relevant, the GDPR), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
6. Cookies
The website uses only the essential cookies and local storage needed for it to function. We do not use advertising trackers.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
